Mindset is my word for this year.   I chose it because the word mindset kept popping up everywhere.   It would be in article I read.  It showed up on my friend’s Facebook post several times although I had never  had any discussions with her about mindset.

So, thus the thought was born.  In the past, my words have been purposeful, joyful, kindness, positivity, and intentional.  Why choose a word for the year or even for a season?  For me, it has been because I wanted to focus specifically on an area in which I felt led to grow.  Oftentimes, I didn’t have all the processes in which the chosen word would help me grow.   I just trusted the process to lead me where I needed to go.  And, it has been an amazing journey for the past several years.

Now, that did not mean that I was joyfully happy or had only positive things happen in my life.  Instead, I experienced the gamut of emotions that regularly occur in life.  I experienced loss, pain, suffering, frustration just the same.   The difference was in how I viewed each experience. Thus, it makes sense why this year’s word is mindset.  Perhaps, that’s a word you need to integrate into your life for a season too.   Here’s what I’m planning for my own growth process.

    1. Focus on the word, mindset.  Good thoughts in and good thoughts out.
    2. Hang with positive people who lift me up. Ever notice how you feel after being around a negative person?  I usually feel drained and exhausted.  But after being around a positive person, I feel energized and excited.  I want to be that person too!
    3. Visualize accomplishing my goals this year – again, it’s a mindset.
    4. Eat healthy and physically exercise regularly to improve my mindset.
    5. Read books that feed my mind. I decided to start a new devotional book this year.  Several of my friends have talked about how they find Oswald Chambers’ writing challenging.  Would love to have me join me in reading the daily devotional book, My Utmost For His Highest.
    6. Taking Mastermind courses that improve my mindset. The first one I’m studying is 15 Laws of Growth.  Come learn with me.

These are the steps I’m taking for the next season.  I believe you should too.  Some of the actions you take may be a little different.  However, the process is the same.   So, let’s rise and shine! Until next time, G
